Think! Do not be fooled and do not be bewitched forever (Galatians 3:1). Let no man systematically bring you back to the law because of the love of money (Romans 16:18; Philippians 3:18-19).
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone" (Matthew 23:23 KJV). The Lord Jesus referred to tithe as one of the laws in the above scripture verse when He was talking to the scribes and the Pharisees (who are under the law) about their religion because they need to obey all the laws as they obey some. Jesus was not talking to the Christians in that verse - he would have faced Peter, James, and John if He were talking to the Christians. Apostle Paul also called tithe law in Hebrew 7:5, "And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brethren, though they come out of the loins of Abraham" (Hebrews 7:5 KJV).
But your pastor deceives you that tithe is not law because your pastor knows that "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree" (Galatians 3:13 KJV). And your pastor knows that "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them" (Galatians 3:10 KJV). Think! Do not be fooled forever and do not be bewitched forever (Galatians 3:1). It is Christ had redeemed us from the curse of the law (including Malachi 3:9) that sets us free and makes us Christians. Let no man systematically bring you back to the law because of the love of money (Romans 16:18; Philippians 3:18-19).
It is unscriptural for any true Christian to tithe. God bless you in Jesus mighty name.
